Happy stamping

I got my new Stampin' Up catalog today! Yahoo! As soon as the doorbell rang, I ran to see if it was the UPS guy, and was thrilled to see the box on my porch, then immediately dropped everything and looked through the entire catalog. It's got some fantastic products and I'm going to start highlighting the things I already have, then begin my wishlist for what I want. I better get a big piece of paper. Love it.

This card expresses how I feel today, where all I want to do is STAMP! I copied the colors and layout from a very talented artist, Kristina Werner, whom I've mentioned previously on my blog. Here is the card by starofmay that inspired me. Her sentiment, "you are one happy girl," would describe how I'm feeling just about now too.

Card details:
  • Paper: Sage Shadow, Ruby Red, Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
  • Ink: Creamy Caramel, Basic Black, Sage Shadow
  • Stamps: Polka Dots & Paisley, Stampin' Fun for Everyone
  • Accessories: Black Hemp Twine, staples, Stampin' Dimensionals

Baroque for you

Looks like I'm going for doubles again today. See the card details below. The image, if you have not guessed, is from Baroque Motifs. One thing I could use a little help with is identifying where in the heck this "for you" stamp is from so I can put it away. It's been on my desk for weeks and I keep using it, but want to store it in it's proper clear plastic home. UPDATE: Staci Gaddie (Night Owl Mommy on SCS) solved the mystery. The {for you} is from SU's All Year Cheer I set. Thank you, Staci!

Sassy little something

Today's creation didn't involve much stamping, just a quick card for a baby gift. I'm off to a pack meeting tonight with my Cub Scout. Enjoy your evening and thanks for checking out my blog. I feel loved.

  • Papers: only orange, whisper white, pink passion, Sassy DP from SU
  • Stamps: Love notes
  • Ink: only orange
  • Accessories/tools: ribbons recycled from gifts I've received, staples, Marvy Uchida 1 3/4-inch scallop punch, Creative Memories 1 1/2-inch square punch, SU 1 1/4-inch square punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

If it's not "BAROQUE," don't fix it!

I'm a sucker for silly lines and this was so irresistible. I love my Baroque Motifs set and whipped up another matching card similar to the one I did yesterday, with new colors. Next, I designed the other turquoise and black card to match. These are some of my favorite color combinations.

  • Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Small Sayings by SU, Live, Love, Laugh by American Art Stamps-Kathleene Callei
  • Ink: Basic Black, Stazon Jet Black, Whisper White by SU
  • Papers: Basic black, naturals white, tempting turquoise cardstock by SU, DP from Hobby Lobby
  • Accessories: Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, black hemp twine by SU, gems from Hobby Lobby, random buttons

Cherish Baroque

Here is my first design using the new Baroque Motifs set from Stampin' Up that I created today that has a bit of an antique look to it. My inspiration for the colors was from my Dutch Girl papers by Cosmo Cricket, for which I'm very affectionate about. This card was created for a swap that I'm participating in (made 20 of these) and I could only use SU items, although I haven't memorized all that will be discontinued and just tried to keep it basic, to avoid use of items that will no longer be available next week when the new catalog takes affect. Here's the lowdown on what I used:

  • Papers: Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa, Naturals White cardstocks
  • Inks: Creamy Caramel, Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Marigold Morning (oops...that one's on its way out), Bordering Blue (that one might be too). I need a new catalog so I dont have to keep checking the discontinued lists!
  • Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Linen
  • Accessories/tools: Caramel gingham ribbon, vintage brads

The Summer I know has come and gone

"Summer lovin,' had me a blast!
Summer lovin,' happened so fast..."

"Vote for Summer!"

My friend, SUMMER, has such a CHEERFUL name, although I'm SURE she's sick of me repeating the same old things she hears often regarding her name, most likely. But I cannot resist, so here comes more.

While the official start of summer here in these parts, was two days ago, my friend, SUMMER, has just moved away. SUMMER was so kind to give {ME} a going-away gift, when {SHE} is the one who left. SUMMER surprised me with this adorable pair of black and white print pajama bottoms because they reminded her of me. Isn't that sweet? I thought so. And as if that wasn't enough, she made this totally adorable card to go with it too. Thank you, SUMMER! I am sad that you are moving, but will enjoy staying in touch with you and seeing you again.

Here I go again...think retro...."Oh we've got to say good-bye, to the SUMMER."

Happy Father's Day to my husband

I'm baaack! Finally. Hopefully I will not take a month off again any time soon. I've been busy, but not THAT busy. So, here's the first creation for this month, a Father's Day card I made for my sweet, wonderful, handsome, etc., husband, who is an awesome daddy to our two kids. I was inspired by Pam Hooten and will some day recreate her orginal design when I get the supplies because I love the card so much.

Here's what my version is made from. Cardstock: Confetti cream, black, real red by SU. The black print DP is from Hobby Lobby, and the striped paper is gift wrap. Stamps: Fleur de lis stamp (from the Timeworn Trim set) and linen background stamp, both by SU, and your special day is a clear stamp by Studio G (thanks, Suzanne). Accessories: red brads, sewing machine stitching, and black SU grosgrain ribbon.
