Christmassy Punches

There's a lot of punching here, but I think it turned out cute. I'm just trying to break the silence of no posting since October. Yikes!

Gee, thanks!

Tonight I'm cleaning my desk and just put together some scraps and concocted this random mixture. I'm not going to bother saying what any of it is, but that I love the SPIRAL PUNCH and have not used it until now. It's such a cool invention. And of course, the adorable gingham turquoise ribbon sent to me with kindness from SCS Inkyhugs, Keri, from Missouri! Thank you! Or shall I say "Gee, thanks?" from the All Around Argyle set.

Jessica's new baby Makayla

My sweet friend, Jessica, just became a mommy for the first time yesterday afternoon to a 7 lb. 4 oz. baby girl named Makayla, who was born with a small opening in her back and will undergo surgery on Independence Day, today. Jessica and her husband have been preparing mentally for their baby who was diagnosed in utero with spina bifida. Jessica's incredible strength and calmness, and enormous love for her daughter, even before her birth has been amazing to me. Little Makayla was transported by ambulance to another hospital while her mom is under care on the other side of town. I plan to visit Jessica today and wanted to make an extra special card for her and this feminine, girly-colored floral design is what I came up with. Please think of their family and remember them in your prayers.

Baroque for you

Looks like I'm going for doubles again today. See the card details below. The image, if you have not guessed, is from Baroque Motifs. One thing I could use a little help with is identifying where in the heck this "for you" stamp is from so I can put it away. It's been on my desk for weeks and I keep using it, but want to store it in it's proper clear plastic home. UPDATE: Staci Gaddie (Night Owl Mommy on SCS) solved the mystery. The {for you} is from SU's All Year Cheer I set. Thank you, Staci!

If it's not "BAROQUE," don't fix it!

I'm a sucker for silly lines and this was so irresistible. I love my Baroque Motifs set and whipped up another matching card similar to the one I did yesterday, with new colors. Next, I designed the other turquoise and black card to match. These are some of my favorite color combinations.

  • Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Small Sayings by SU, Live, Love, Laugh by American Art Stamps-Kathleene Callei
  • Ink: Basic Black, Stazon Jet Black, Whisper White by SU
  • Papers: Basic black, naturals white, tempting turquoise cardstock by SU, DP from Hobby Lobby
  • Accessories: Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, black hemp twine by SU, gems from Hobby Lobby, random buttons

Cherish Baroque

Here is my first design using the new Baroque Motifs set from Stampin' Up that I created today that has a bit of an antique look to it. My inspiration for the colors was from my Dutch Girl papers by Cosmo Cricket, for which I'm very affectionate about. This card was created for a swap that I'm participating in (made 20 of these) and I could only use SU items, although I haven't memorized all that will be discontinued and just tried to keep it basic, to avoid use of items that will no longer be available next week when the new catalog takes affect. Here's the lowdown on what I used:

  • Papers: Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa, Naturals White cardstocks
  • Inks: Creamy Caramel, Always Artichoke, Rose Red, Marigold Morning (oops...that one's on its way out), Bordering Blue (that one might be too). I need a new catalog so I dont have to keep checking the discontinued lists!
  • Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Linen
  • Accessories/tools: Caramel gingham ribbon, vintage brads
