Lately, I've had terrible results in setting eyelets, so I have gotten out of the habit. It's as if I've forgotten how to do it. So today I played around with my various tools and was thrilled to pinpoint what works best for me, my Making Memories Instant Setter. After messing around with scraps, I put this card together. I experimented with my Crop-o-dile, plus the old method I used, which was a handheld punch, then using all kinds of variations, made little progress until I found this video on setting eyelets. It made my day when I got my eyelet setting groove back. I prefer for the eyelets to "flower" out on the backside, rather than the smashed round finish that I get with the Crop-o-dile. So I am happy! Look for some cards made with eyelets in the future, now that I can do it consistently. Thanks to Melissa for being my sounding board!

I have eyelet "issues" too. I'm like you... not quite sure what I'm doing. I'm never happy with the way it sets. Either it doesn't fan out or it's smashed so badly that the paint chips off the front. SO, like you I stopped using eyelets for a while as well. It was actually your black and pink baby cards that inspired or motivated me to revisit the eyelet. I'm still not sure what I like. I haven't gotten the MM setter. DO you like it? As you know I have the CAD. I never know what I'm doing with that stupid thing. I'm always too lazy to pull out the instructions! Up until a few months ago I was doing it the old fashioned way. I would be banging in the middle of the night waking the entire neighborhood. I'm going to check out that youtube video you linked us to. Thanks for sharing your frustrations, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one fighting with eyelets. Mahalo Jenn.
